Net@ Carmiel Bikes for Gilad

“And thy sons shall return to their borders”

On March 24, 2010, just before Passover and the celebration our freedom, 80 Net@ Karmiel students and staff were bike riding in support of the release of abducted Israeli Defense soldier Gilad Schalit. Gilad (23) was born in Nahariya, raised in Mitzpe Hilla in the Western Galilee.  He is the son of Aviva and Noam and brother of Yoel and Hadas. Gilad has been held in the Gaza Strip by Hamas since June 25, 2006.
The ride is a Partnership 2000 initiative between Carmiel, the Jewish community of Pittsburgh, and the campaign to release Gilad Schalit.
