A group of 45 teens from Pittsburgh visited the Karmiel-Misgav region during the week of July 3-8 within the framework of the Jewish Agency's Partnership 2Gether program.

Prior to their departure from Pittsburgh, the young people participated in a "Counselor in Training" (CIT) orientation that was highlighted by their 3 weeks visit to Israel. Immediately upon the conclusion of their visit to Israel, the new counselors will be sent to work EKC summer camp.
They arrived at their Karmiel-Misgav destination on Tuesday July 3, 2012 for 5 days  visit. The group was hosted by 25 of their counterparts from the region, most of whom are counselors or activists in the local youth movement.
Their visit included a variety of interesting and enjoyable activities. They toured the Golan Heights and an IDF base, went white water rafting down the Jordan River, "Treasure Hunt" game to get to know Karmiel-Misgav, etc.
The last day of their visit was dedicated to "Tikun Olam" and the teens volunteered at Bustan Nof Meshutaf (“ A Shared Landscape”): a Jewish-Arab Agricultural and ecological center offering diverse opportunities for learning about nature and sustainable living. This unique community and national project, led by Arab-and Jewish Israeli citizens, is located on a hillside near Mitspe Aviv and Tamra, in the heart of the Galilee.
