Armed with torches and dressed warmly a group of volunteers and their spouses recently attended a nightly excursion to the historic settlement 'Rosh Pina'. Upon their arrival they met with Arik Lubovski, tour guide and historical archivist from the neighboring [and also historic] Yesod Hama'ala', who guided the group through the years and alleys of the first settlement. He told the group about the history of the various houses and the people living in them at that time and about Baron Rothchild who was the patron of this and other settlements. He told the group about cases of hanky panky among the settlers and other interesting stories of love and hatred that are not recorded anywhere. After about one hour of strolling through the alleys and gardens d the group was pleasantly surprised to find a table filled with cups of piping hot tea and tasty biscuits, in the middle of the road. After two hours, at the end of the tour the group arrived at the cemetery, where many interesting people are buried, among them eccentric singer Drora Havkin. Finally the group drove to the restaurant of 'Baba Yona' where they heard stories about the pioneer guerilla fighter from Syria who started a restaurant in Galilee. The menu included grilled meat in the renowned 'El-Gaucho & Pampas' style. The evening was rounded off with desert after which people were very tired but satisfied.
