Federation's Michigan Miracle Mission 4 is bringing close to 600 people to Israel, April 18 - 28th. The mission is co-sponsored by Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, the Detroit Jewish News and the Michigan Board of Rabbis.
The group includes participants from synagogue and temples, the community at large, Ann Arbor, Toledo, and friends and family from outside Michigan. We spend 6 days based out of Jerusalem and our last 2 days in our Partnership 2000 region.
The plans for the P2K visit are shaping up and look to be a highlight of the trip. The P2K leadership, volunteers and staff have worked hard to be sure this visit provides a warm and rich experience. We interface as much as possible with our friends and "extended mishpaocha" in the region. We celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut just as Israelis do. The activities include a Yom Ha'atzmaut party, getting on the road and touring, joining host families at their barbecues, shopping at the Jezreel Valley Regional Council's Arts and Crafts Market and perhaps hiking. Our last morning we spread out and visit 15 programs many of which are funded by Detroit.
Partnership 2000 is our last taste of Israel for MMM4 and will surely leave us with many new enthusiasts for the people and work of our the Michigan Central Galilee Partnership 2000 program.
