The residents of the Central Galilee Partnership area (Nazareth Ilit, Migdal Haemek, and Jezreel Valley), as our neighboring city Afula, can be characterized as somewhere "in between".
We are not completely out of harms way, and we are not under heavy attack as in Naharia, Zefat, Haifa or even Carmiel and Tiberius.
There was some uncertainty as to how we are expected to act, especially after there were a couple of missiles sent to our area. As there were no injuries or even severe damage in out area, and it has been pretty quiet in the past 48 hours - the establishment is trying to get things back to normal.
Day camps and other activities are activated once again after several days that no activities were allowed.
Amazing how volatile the situation is. While writing these last sentences news came in that a rocket landed in Emek Israel. You can cancel everything I wrote about back to normal. We can expect another couple of days of tension, worried parents, scared children and difficult daily dilemmas as to how to act. Can I let my teen age boy go out? Do I go to work or stay home?
Do we sit and sleep in the sheltered room or just close by?
A week has passed. It's along time and it's not easy. When things are tense for a long time it takes it toll. On relationships, behavior, etc.
But, and here is the big but,
It seems that Israel- it's people as well as it's government - are united and confident that what is going on in Lebanon is a very clear "must" - no two ways about it. The simple citizen from Emek Israel, Migdal Haemek or any place else in Israel understands that and is willing to pay the price. Israelis deserves to feel secure. That's what this is all about.
