Participants in Central Galilee Partnership 2000 joined about 65 members of the UJC Solidarity Mission headed by Jane Sherman of Detroit for supper last night. The mission has been in Israel since last Monday and includes volunteers and leaders from the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, who arrived to visit and support the Israeli public in light of the security situation in northern Israel. The mission will be staying in Israel until Wednesday evening.

Members of the Partnership 2000 Volunteer Forum met, from among members of the mission, former participants in Leadership programs as well as Central Galilee Partnership 2000 Steering Committee members, such as Stacey Crane and Keren Alpinar. Together they shared experiences and information on the security situation within the Central Galilee partnership region in particular, and the country in general.
Among the Detroit participants was Marc Borovoy, who mentioned that his son had stayed in Israel last week as part of the Detroit Youth Mission. As may be recalled the young people were forced to leave Israel due to the security situation, shortening their planned one-month visit.
