Last week, about 40 residents, families and children participated in a Kabbalat Shabbat ceremony in the Balfour Forest in Migdal HaEmek. Among the participants was Mayor Eli Barda who, along with local residents, enjoyed a Kabbalat Shabbat singsong, bingo, and Shabbat stories.
The event was held upon the initiative of Volunteers for the Community Forest, who have worked in Migdal HaEmek for about a year within the framework of the Community Forest project. The goal of the project is to develop Balfour Forest which encircles the city of Migdal HaEmek. Partners in the project include Partnership 2000, the Department of Social Services, the Migdal HaEmek beautification department, Migdal HaEmek Community Center, Keren Kayemet, and the Council for a Beautiful Israel.
