I am honored to have been elected to chair the Partnership 2000 steering committee for the communities of Northeastern New York and Mexico.

I begin my work with a sense of commitment to the future destiny of the Jews in the partnership communities, full of hope that we can achieve common goals which will provide a sense of involvement and belonging, and close, trusting relations with the partners from overseas.

The new term amiyut yehudit, Jewish Peoplehood, implies a connection to the nation, the people, and the place-both a personal and communal level.

I wish all our partners in Northeastern New York and Mexico a happy and prosperous year in creating a bridge to a common future.

And a very productive collaboration to all members of the Eshkol steering committee as they perform their dedicated work.
