Budget and Decision Making
The UJC ONAD process has validated the Hadera-Eiron - UJC Southeast Region Consortium Partnership for elective community funding. This means that each participating Federation decides for itself how much of its overseas allocation will go to the Partnership. The Jewish Agency's core budget provides funds for infrastructure (i.e. Regional Manager, support staff and office services) necessary to operate the partnership.
The Partnership joint committee, composed of representatives of the partners and the Jewish Agency for Israel, is authorized to allocate budgets for programs. The system provides sufficient flexibility for each of the communities to advance their own agendas on the one hand, while pooling resources to attain maximum impact on issues of shared concern on the other hand. The Partnership 2000 system strives for consensus-driven decision making.
Areas of Involvement
Partnership 2000 offers a variety of avenues for involvement, on both organizational and individual levels. Partnered Federations can be involved in:
Identifying priorities for involvement and setting their agenda for the Partnership;
Marketing Partnership opportunities to community organizations (e.g., Board of Jewish Education, Jewish professional groups, youth movements);
Recruiting representatives for joint committee and subcommittees;
Developing "living-bridge" connections based on affinity groups (e.g. doctors, preschool educators, athletes, musicians).
Cultivating supplemental contributions for physical projects in the Israeli region.
