Connected, A Poem by Larry Saloman

We connected in Haifa
Well, that's not quite true
We got down, we got funky
With the best Haifa Jews

And with Christians and Muslims
We mourned at Maxim's
With great pain in our hearts
We laid down our wreaths

We studied and davened
With scholars and friends
Tour guides were top rate
Food was without end

The host with the most
Haifa's beaming with pride
Boston won't need the planes
To home for the ride

Up in Turkey, two bombings
Al qaida, again
They should know they won't beat us
The righteous shall win

Shabbat comes to an end
Our family, unite!
Let the world know
For Israel, we'll fight

We shopped til we dropped
Spent a bundle of dough
Let's take it all home
To let everyone know

You're safe here in Israel
More so than you thought
Take a plane or a boat
Get here like you ought

We connected in Haifa
A great bridge we have built
Send friends to cross it
That is love to the hilt!
