Mill Hill United Synagogue

Mill Hill is a member of the United Synagogue, situated in North West London. The community consists of some 800 families, and is one of the youngest and fastest-growing within the United Synagogue organisation. The community is led by the very well-known Rabbi Yitzchok Schochet and his wife Chani, who have been with us for over 10 years.

We have an ongoing programme of social and educational events that often draw over 100 people, and we are active in raising funds for Israel. The community donated an ambulance to Magen David Adam last year, and we participated in the Magic Moments programme last year which was very popular.

In Mill Hill we have a buzzing youth, led by our Youth Rabbi and Youth Director, Rabbi Motti Shenker and Sharon Shenker. There are hundreds of children in Mill Hill and something is going on for them right through the week. On Shabbat there are four full-to-overflowing services for children and youth with close to 100 attending every week. On Sunday the Hebrew classes again have close to 100 children on the register and there is a post-cheder course called SMILE for year 7. Also on Sunday we are encouraging our own youth to take a leading role in the community with the "Be Radical, Learn to Lead" leadership training programme. Then on Tuesday the extremely popular CLUB Xplore takes place in the evening for younger children and Wednesdays sees CLUB Xclusive in the funky youth lounge for boys and girls aged 11-13. There is something for everyone at MH Youth, and everyone goes home with a smile on their faces.
