Trigger (2 mins):
Take the last page from an Aj6 tour brochure which contains quotes from previous years tour participants.
It should be passed around the circle and they should take it in turns to read quotes
Introduction (5 mins):
Facilitator should introduce the concept of first and second timers tours. They should include the following points:
1,200 young people will go on an Israel Experience this summer
Significant proportion of Anglo-Jewry
Many youth movements run tours - list some
Rivalry between the different tours
Hundreds will go on a second timers tour
Aj6 is the top provider of second timers tours running Europe and America tours. Others run second timers programmes back in Israel
Point out that tour can be life changing. Facilitator should recount their own experiences on tour (if applicable).
Israelis on tour (5 mins):
The Israelis there from Europe Tour orientation should speak for two to three minutes about their experiences of tour.
Conclusion (3 mins):
Point out that over tour they are likely to have the following experiences:
Make lasting and true friends
Discover another culture new to you
Improve your English
Have the most amazing time
See some amazing places
Have some memories that you'll want to tell your grandchildren.
Point out that it won't all be on a 'high', but for the vast majority of participants the good points far outweigh any bad points.
