As in Partnership 2000 tradition, about 70 young people from the Confrontation Line region gathered for the annual end of the summer Kenes Bogrim.
The meeting (Kenes Bogrim) was held on 21.8.08 in the Liman Forest. It included the veterans/graduates of various programmes involving encounters between British and Israeli youth in Britain and Israel during the last four years -participants in Magic Moments delegations, in summer and winter camps of British youth movements in the UK - Aj6, Hanoar Hazioni, Noam and Bnei Akiva, and the summer Israel and Europe Tours.
The Kenes is held each year for a very special reason - to maintain connections and to create a continuity of involvement of the participants with other participants, with the region, and with the various Partnership programmes, which aim to strengthen the personal ties created between the Confrontation Line community and British Jewry.
Upon arrival at the Liman Forest, we received cool T-shirts, helped ourselves to refreshments and had the opportunity of meeting again the friends we made during the delegations, to renew connections and to fill-in the gaps.
The main event was forest challenge activities - rope climbing, omega, etc. No doubt this activity injected a lot of adrenaline and a lot of good humor in all of us - chanichim and madrichim as well. We were presented with different programmes implemented by Partnership 2000. The participants of the second cycle of Israelis in Shnat Sherut with the British youth movements introduced themselves, talked about the activities they had throughout the year and warmly recommended the experience.
The Partnership's Youth Council introduced themselves and their annual activities and invited additional youth to join its members for the coming year. The new Student Council chair took her place.
Later on we had warm stew made on the spot and concluded this fun day by a circle of drummers who filled the area with the sound of African drums and Darbukas.
Our best wishes to Sapir Suisa from Hosen in Maale Yosef, the departing Youth Council chair, who performed her duties from the bottom of her heart and invested a lot of her time. She was the best and most successful chair we could have had. Good luck to her on her Shnat Sherut and we hope to see her later as a delegation madricha.
See you at the next Kenes Bogrim!
