Dr. Richard Burack is the Chair of the Board of Governors at the "Clore Tikva" Primary School, where his daughter studies. As it happens, "Clore Tikva" has been connected with the Ma'ale Hagalil Kerner school in Meona for the last four years as part of the Partnership's "School to School" programme.
Dr. Burack, who had not been in Israel for many years, decided at the last minute in his position as the Chair of the Board of Governors to join the Clore Tikva teachers' delegation that visited Meona in May 2009.
This visit to Israel and his new understanding about the magnitude of the project in creating interpersonal relations, led Dr. Burack into the Partnership's world and the desire to learn about and connect to Israel personally and to develop the project to include more schools in the Galilee and in Great Britain.
Dr. Burack has recently been nominated as Chair of the Partnership's Education Sub-committee and will assume his new position at the November Steering Committee meetings. He visited the region May 2-5 to become more thoroughly acquainted with the Ma'ale Yosef, Merom Hagalil and Shlomi regions and their educational systems. He visited several schools in the Partnership region in order to prepare for developing the School to School project.
