Summer Delegations and Israel Tours 2012

Many youth from Ma'ale Yosef, Shlomi, Merom Hagalil and Carmiel Northern Galil Partnership participated in youth movement summer camps in the UK and joined British youth on their movements' Israel Tours.

The main aim of these activities is to create personal relationships between British youth and Israeli youth living in the north and to establish long-lasting continuity in this connection. The reactions below of participating youth certainly demonstrate that these goals have been achieved.

The Israeli and British youth went through a significant and formative experience. Participants in the programmes were able to give of themselves as "shlichim" and to act in strengthening the connection between Israel and the Jewish community in the Diaspora.

The Israeli youth led a variety of activities to present the nature of Israeli culture and enriched their own knowledge about Jews outside of Israel through creating deep relationships that will no doubt continue into the future.

Amit Shmulovitz joined Israel Tour: "The opportunity to participate on Tour enabled me to get to know my own country from a different perspective. I gained British friends and through them I learned about Jewish culture and about the different kinds of their Judaism. The friendships I made with the British youth strengthened their connection with Israel."

Johnny Leibovitz, a British participant: " Thanks so much for the opportunity to participate in the programme. I learned so much about Israel and have friendships with Israelis that will definitely continue."

Aviva Limprat, Bnei Akiva camp madricha: "The major goal of building relationships with the British youth was achieved in the best way. We were a significant part of the camp for them. Thank you for giving me the opportunity and experience of making such an impact."
