Columbus residents, Dr. Judy Groner and Lisa Carroll, have conducted a workshop on preventing Shaken Baby Syndrome to residents of our Jewish Agency partnership city Kfar Saba.
With assistance from a doctor and a nurse from the Local Meir Hospital, who have recently visited Columbus to learn more about Shaken Baby Syndrome, the group of professionals presented information to teams at the therapeutic developmental center, the Rina preschool for children with communications disorders and the local baby health clinic.
"This program was received with open arms from the Kfar Saba community,” stated Kfar Saba P2K Coordinator Aliza Regev. “I wish for us to be able to prevent as many cases of babies suffering from the syndrome as possible!"
Following the presentation, the guests from Columbus went to visit the "Hearts" day care center for children at risk, where children were singing (above) and the drawings made by the children of the JCC New Albany preschool were on display (left).
