This is Sovev Kinneret's flagship program, which was held again this year in May. For this cycle, volunteers stayed in Hodayot Youth Village, where they were accommodated with warm hospitality.
The program of classroom lessons was conducted each evening between 5 and 8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Tiberias Hospitality College. The volunteers and their students received friendly and complete attention to their needs, in the interest of conducting the studies. A deep connection formed between Israeli students and American volunteers and they said goodbye to each other in a big going-away party.
The volunteers went on a number of outings in the Region during the month and also met with people involved in the Partnership and well as students from previous Engliyada cycles. Several times they volunteered in the Hodayot greenhouse.
This year, a volunteer from the Washington community came for an up-close observation of Engliyada ahead of the possible adoption of the program for the Washington-Beit Shemesh partnership. Engliyada was crowned a success in terms of the relationships that formed between students and residents of the Sovev Kinneret region as well as the depth of those connections.
