For the second time, an 8th grade class from Milwaukee Jewish Day School has arrived for a two-week tour of Israel. Three days of the students' visit were dedicated to northern Israel and the Sovev Kinneret region, where they met with active members of the community as well as residents of Israel who have a personal connection with the Milwaukee community.
The highlight of the visit was a half-day meeting with 8th and 9th graders from ORT School in Tiberias. The American and Israeli students who gathered have been in close contact throughout the year as part of the Partnership 2000 Education Bridge program. The visit included a reception, an artistic activity (as a vehicle for dialogue), a discussion on different streams of Judaism, a sports activity, and an informal, free-time outing in the city of Tiberias. Yonatan Post organized the visit and oversaw the program.
