Elana, the mother of the family, is editor of the Federation's Milwaukee Jewish Chronicle.  The family, motivated by their wish to contribute to the Region, visited Sovev Kinneret following the celebration of their daughter Maayan's bat mitzvah.  They visited Hodayot Youth Village and met with its director, Eli Stein, spending most of the visit in the village's greenhouse together with Shmuel and Avner, directors of the Hodayot agricultural program.  They capped off the visit by helping out through a number of activities in the greenhouse.  The family was impressed with the youth village and the work that it is doing.
