A gift from the Jewish Community of SPBC, in cooperation with KB Municipality
One of the successful Living Bridge programs at Partnership 2000 between South Palm Beach County and Kiryat Bialik is Women to Women, which last year connected a group of women from both sides in strong bonds of friendship. As a joint project this group chose to set up a new playground in the center of Kiryat Bialik, from which the entire community will benefit and that will particularly serve the need for devices suitable for school-age kids rather than toddlers.
Dr. Rafi Wertheim, Mayor of Kiryat Bialik, recommended locating the new playground at a spot not far from an older one, in a very lively area due to its proximity to the music conservatory, Eshkol Pais educational center and a multipurpose cultural center being built these days. An impressive amount was raised by the Boca women, supplemented by their KB friends and the municipality, who also took care of the foundations. Coordinated by P2K staff on both ends, the playground was set up last week and was enthusiastically received by KB residents, children as well as adults.
The playground will be officially dedicated this coming November, during a visit of a large mission from South Palm Beach celebrating Israel 60th anniversary. Partnership 2000 between Kiryat Bialik and South Palm Beach County was established over 6 years ago. It operates tremendously successful educational and social programs and has created significant, long-lasting living bridges among various groups. This playground is another gesture of friendship from the Jewish people of SPBC, who see KB as their home in Israel.
