It has become a tradition that the MOL delegation from SPBC visits KB, its sister city within the Jewish Agency's Partnership 2000, on Yom HaZikaron (Israel's Memorial Day).
This unique, intense day, followed by Yom HaAtzmaut, is a powerful experience for the teens who had just visited the death camps in Poland and can now understand better the meaning of Revival.
This year's delegation included 46 youths and 9 adults, led by Dr. Leon Weissberg, old friend of KB.
Kids were hosted by families of students from ORT-Bialik high school and middle school, overseen by Principal Rami Porat. They participated at the city's main ceremony in the evening and at the high school ceremony the next day, the latter being dedicated to 44 fallen school graduates.
They joined classes and met school graduates now in IDF uniforms. For some of the kids this was the first time in KB while others were reunited with old friends. Saying goodbye, however, was emotional for everyone, before departing to celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut in Jerusalem.
