Purim Goodies from Orlando and Kiryat Motzkin Sent to Karakal Base

By Luis Malul, Steering Committee member and volunteer

The Orlando Kiryat Motzkin Partnership continues to pamper the soldiers of the Karkal IDF base in the south of Israel with sweets and good will.  Thanks to funds raised in Orlando, students from the Yonatan Netanyahu Jr. High School filled boxes with sweets and other treats for the soldiers serving at the Karakal IDF base in the south of Israel.  Women from the Orlando Jewish Community sent notes which were added to the parcels along with greetings and holiday wishes from the students of the Jr. High School.

The parcels were picked up by soldiers and were presented by members of the school's student council.  These students just returned from the Rambam hospital where they handed out Mishloah Manot to sick children.  The students and soldiers broke out in spontaneous Purim song and dance.

The soldiers brought with them a certificate of appreciation for the ongoing support received during the recent events in Gaza.  And later in the day, the base officer called to say thank you to the partnership and the students from the school for their continued support.
