The “Dental Pub” In Ofakim Will Become A Center For Populations With Special Needs
1.4.2005

The “Dental Pub” served for many years as a dental clinic. It will be renovated using a donation from Maxine Meyers and the Forum for Women’s Leadership in Metro West which raised $100,000 for the project. The non-profit organization, “Yahdav”, which specializes in the establishment and operation of centers for populations with special needs, expressed its willingness to become a partner in the project.

The center will serve two populations simultaneously: it will have a modern fitness room which will be modified for populations with special needs and at the same time will provide the women of Ofakim with a meeting place for workshops of various kinds, such as leadership development, cooking and more.

The “Dental Pub” was built as a dental clinic. Since the building is in a central location in Ofakim, youth would meet here on weekends with their cars, playing music and dancing. Over time, the place came to be known as the “Dental Pub” by young people in the city.
