The annual Partnership 2000 Ofakim-Merchavim - MetroWest march focused this year on Tourism in the Negev. Around 2,000 people from the Ofakim-Merchavim region marched around all the Moshavim in the northern side of the Regional Council of Merchavim, on a bright May day.   

There is a new initiative in the region to attract tourism, with the help of the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Israeli government.  

Children from all the schools in the region - along with veterans from Merchavim, Ofakim and Tel Aviv (the oldest was 94 years old) - walked in the fields and around the Moshav expansions. The march was very beautiful and relaxing. At the end there was a great celebration of dancing and music preformed by local youth talents.
