Performing Arts Series In The Consortium Communities
14.2.2008

The Western Galilee region has become the venue of a wide range of artistic activities, due to its unique demographic, geographic and human features.  Internationally-acclaimed artistic organizations are active in the Western Galilee, and the Partnership has offered the Consortium communities the opportunity to experience a sampling of this activity, in the form of a performance series featuring four professional groups during the 2007/8 season.

Two out of the four, Keshet Eilon and Halil BaGalil visited recently in Omaha, Canton, Dayton, Des Moines and Louisville. As for the the other two, the dance group of Gaaton visiting these days the communities and the Akko Theatre will visit in March.

Here are some impressions from the program:

"This was a great kick off to our Performing Arts Series because of the quality of the musicians and their warm personalities. It is one of the best projects in terms of exposure because so many people saw the program.

People were left with a great respect for what the Western Galilee has to offer.

This should be an on-going offering of Partnership. It gives us something that so many of the community can relate to and it allows us to involve different kinds of volunteers in our community." Julle Katzman Omaha

"The show was enthusiastically received by a very broad audience and we had a terrific turnout.

The musicians were extremely professional, knew their audience.  They interacted well after the show with the audience. People thanked us for having them; the audience was extremely enthusiastic, standing ovations and encores.

This is a perfect program for strengthening the community feeling to Israel and the Western Galilee." Irv Moscowitz Dayton
