The Eshkol School held a joint Tu Bishvat Seder with the Akiba Academy of Dallas, Texas. The students on both sides of the ocean watched each other using video conference technology, with the help of the Net@, Apple seeds Academy in Akko.
During the event, the Eshkol pupils surprised everyone with dance routines, singing together, and even a saxophone recital performed by a mother and son. Ahuva Lavie, the school principal, noted that two important and central values in the school are being realized - Zionism and Jewish identity, as well as positive use of media to lever ongoing connections with the Diaspora and make them more effective.

The Eshkol School is one of eight elementary schools from Akko and Matte Asher who were part of an educational delegation last Chanukah in the Partnership communities in the Central Area Consortium.
The delegation enjoyed great success, both in creating original twinning relationships, and in the enthusiastic reactions from the communities.
