The youth mission from Gross High School in Omaha visited the Western Galilee on March 15 . The group went to Ma'ayanot elementary school on Kibbutz Cabri and heard a talk about kibbutz life by Alon Vikrat, a boy from the school. After the talk, they met with a group of sixth graders and did some art work together on the theme of peace and unity.
The language of art provided an excellent bridge for the language and age gaps and the interesting work they produced (see photos) now adorns the corridors in both the Israeli and American schools.
The same evening, the Omaha group met with a group of Israeli youth from the "Teen 2 Teen" project, which is soon setting off for a mission to different communities. Yaeli Cohen, the mission leader for the Israeli group led a fascinating session, with a different challenging social games aimed at group consolidation and learning about the teens' different cultures and the common interests they share.

The "Teen 2 Teen" group members are looking forward to their upcoming mission when they will again meet their friends from Omaha and strengthen the connections which began in Israel.

A huge "thank you" to Amir Eisenberg, principal of Ma'ayanot School, and teacher Idit Fuchs for making the visit to their school such a success, and to Yaeli Cohen for the interesting and fruitful evening.
