Students from Grade 8 at the Levine Academy in Dallas, Texas, share a 'twinning' relationship with 8th graders from Akko's Rose Ort School. Each year, the highlight of this relationship takes place when the Levine Academy 8th graders visit Israel and the students from both countries meet.

This year, in addition to the traditional correspondence by mail, an Internet forum was set up, in which students from either side of the ocean can post personal information about themselves, write about their day-to-day experiences at school and of course express their excitement about the upcoming encounter in Israel.
On March 29 the anticipated encounter took place. Both groups met in the Lily Sharon Grove in Acco, starting with introductory games organized by Keshet Yisrael. After an Israeli lunch of falafel and humus, the groups toured the Tunisian Synagogue and the Old City of Akko.

The students promised to maintain their relationships, which were strengthened during the encounter and to correspond via the forum and through personal emails during the summer vacation.
