Counselor in English, Madrich in Hebrew
16.7.2007
Adva Weinstein, Camp Director

By Jane Diener, Kefiada Volunteer, Atlanta

Jane Diener

Working with the Israeli madrichim has been amazing. At first, we were all a bit surprised by how young they are, and after we accepted that, we had to accept their constant energy. Every madrich has this incredible energy and motivation to work with children and make their campers feel as happy and comfortable as humanly possible. It is so easy to see that these madrichim have the biggest hearts out of all the youth in the Yokneam community.

Since we spend each day working with the madrichim and sometimes suffer through chaotic camp with them, it was extremely natural to form quick bonds with them on personal levels. We are constantly receiving invitations to birthday parties and get-togethers, and if we are unable to attend they will call us to beg us to come or just to see how we're doing.

We will definetly keep in touch with this wonderful group of people who have become best friends to us.
