Journal of War and Peace II
Yokneam

Shalom my friends in Atlanta and St Louis,

Your warm responses are giving me incentive and energy to continue reporting from Yokneam, as to how we are passing this war which I would call " Peace for Israel "

Less than half an hour ago , there were additional bombing of Naharia. Naharia bore the brunt of today's terrorist attack ,and unfortunately added an additional casualty. As his friends and family were calling to him, on his way to the shelter , the katyusha hit him.

29 people were injured this afternoon. The Hezbollah murderers tried their luck again, and fired a rocket at the same train depot to which they bombed 2 days ago. Additional damage was caused , but luckily no one was hurt.

This evening I went to pay a Shiva call to the Ben Shimon family. Shimon's elderly parents Shalom and Rivka, his brother Daniel, his sister Osnat .

The widow Natalie a 36 year old nurse at Rambam hospital, now on maternity leave, was changing the diaper of the 2 week old infant Eliran, as the 3.5 year old brother Or Avraham, was watching.

They were deeply moved to hear that our partner communities mentioned the loss of Shimon ZL, and asked me to thank you for expressing interest in their tragedy. Shmuel's mother Rivka, told me that she is strengthened by the fact that she sees the whole country united, and was even more so encouraged to hear that even our brothers in the Diaspora are thinking about them. Natalie told me that she has a good friend doing medical internship in St Louis - Dr Shlomit Shaal. We all pray that HaShem should give the Ben Shimon family strength , and that they should find consolation together with all the bereaved of Zion.

On a more personal note: We have one son in the army, and we anxiously wait to hear from him every evening. The irony of it is that last week he came down with pneumonia, and he had been convalescing a home until last Sunday. Now he is back with his unit, and we continue to await his daily phone calls. Thank G-d he is well and in good spirits.

Earlier this evening, another son of ours was called to emergency reserve duty , as was our nephew. They will both be stationed in the Hebron - Gush Etzion area, where our older son lives.

That is the reality in which we live, and that's all for tonight. I hope that next time I will have only good news.

"He who makes peace in the heavens, shall bring peace onto us and unto all of Israel, Amen"
