King Solomon said in the Book of Parables (22:6), "Educate the child in accord with his inclinations, such that even as he grows old it will not leave him." That is the essence of education - not only when the child is young and under his parents control will he do as they say, also when he grows up and controls his own destiny he will not leave their way. For education is not a series of edicts which the teacher or parent issues, nor is it force of habits which the child gets used to performing. Education is much more powerful. Edicts and force of habit only serve as tools which the educator resorts to as necessary, to tell the child what to do and to get him into the habit of acting properly, with the ultimate goal of educating him to go in the path of the Almighty.
