It is futile to tell the child that he must listen to the educator and leave it at that, for that is not enough; as we demonstrated, such an approach will lead the child to view his educator as a foreign tyrant.
The main thing is to lead the child into understanding that the child is his own educator. The child should not view himself as a little kid, rather as a fresh stem in the garden of the Jewish nation. The Almighty has conferred upon him - the child - full responsibility to cultivate himself and grow into a big tree of life, into a righteous adult and Torah scholar. But, as he has not yet learned much Torah, his evil inclination burns within him, and his teacher and parents are there to help him - lest he harm himself. Thus, he should listen to them as they explain the Torah.
