Listen, my child, to your father's instruction, and don't forsake your mother's lessons. Make sure to speak softly to all people and at all times. This will save you from anger, a highly negative trait which leads people to sin. Our sages said, "A person who gets angry is afflicted by all types of hell, as is written - 'remove anger from your heart and thus remove evil from your flesh' - and 'evil' refers to 'hell', as is written - 'and the evil person is destined to the evil day (the wrath of hell)'".
