English summer camp participants in class
Last Tuesday, on July 28, a moving banquet was held at the Jewish Agency's Nitzana Rural Educational Community to celebrate the completion of the first session of the Pre-Atidim English Summer camp. Recognizing the talented 80 tenth grade participants in the program and their incredible academic achievement was one component of the evening ceremony. Another was honoring the dedicated volunteer teachers from the US, Israel and Australia who gave of themselves to help empower and educate Israeli youth – academically and personally.
The Pre-Atidim English summer camp is a special program during which students learn all aspects of the English language, and enjoy a wide range of social and educational activities offered by the Nitzana Rural Educational Community. Daily activities include English classes (grammar, writing and reading) and recreational activities run completely in English.
The summer camp in Nitzana is a reflection of the successful cooperation between the Jewish Agency and Atidim, which have worked together to provide a wide range of activities for youth in the Israeli periphery throughout the year.
This summer, approximately 800 students are taking part in ten educational camps run by Atidim in Nitzana and other academic centers throughout Israel. Summertime marks the height of activity for the Pre-Atidim program, which operates 150 centers throughout the Israeli periphery and serves 13,000 students.
