Net@ - Advancing Youth From High Risk To High Tech

High-technology continues to be the pathway to success in today's society. Unfortunately too many of Israel's youth are not exposed to the educational and social opportunities that allow them to develop these skills, use these resources, and ultimately reach success. Geographic and demographic isolation curbs their future and limits their chances of becoming independent, productive members of society.

Net@ uses a holistic approach to empower youth from Israel's geographic and socio-economic peripheries with advanced technology education, social values, and leadership skills. The technology curriculum is based on Cisco Networking Academy's ITE and Discovery courses; the complementary social and leadership curriculum reinforces values of multiculturalism, democracy, excellence, social skills, and commitment to community. Through a comprehensive educational and experiential program, Net@ fortifies academic studies in computer and network technology with practical, hands-on training. Students also connect with and contribute to their local communities through volunteer work, fostering individual growth and community development. Participants' achievements combined with their commitment to local community leadership make them prime candidates for elite Israeli Defense Forces units and careers in the hi-tech job market, ultimately preparing them to become tomorrow's leaders.

In collaboration with the Jewish Agency for Israel, Cisco Systems, Inc., United Israel Appeal, and Appleseeds Academy, Net@ has a proven success record, changing the lives of its 1,300+ graduates from across Israel since 2003. Today Net@ has 950 active students in 17 Israeli communities: Kiryat Shmona, Bet Shean, Carmiel, Kiryat Bialik, Acco, Nazareth-Nazareth Illit, Kfar Saba, Tel Aviv, Ramla, Jerusalem, Kiryat Malachi, Sderot, Eshkol, Ashkelon, Beer Sheva, Dimona, and Eilat.
