Net@ Participants Welcomed the Pope in a Special Ceremony
4.8.2009
Ido Landau and Mira Haddad from Net@ Nazareth-Nazareth Illit with the president of Israel, Shimon Peres

Mira Haddad from Net@ Nazareth and Ido Landau from Net@ Nazareth Illit were chosen to represent the Net@ program in the reception for Pope Benedict XVI that was held at the President's Residence. Mira and Ido, Net@ participants from class 2008, were chosen since they demonstrate the excellence and spirit of voluntarism that are representative of the Net@ program vision.

Mira personally greeted the pope along with other youths in three languages: English, Arabic and Hebrew. They wished for peace in the near future and presented the pope with a basket of fruits.

After the ceremony Mira Haddad was interviewed by Arad Nir from Channel 2 News. Mira explained about the Net@ program, the joint social and technological classes, and the special activities of the Net@ participants in a mixed population. A video clip of the reception and the complete interview can be viewed at the Net@ website: http://neta-project.org

Einav Swisa, director of Net@ in Nazareth, Nazareth Illit and Migdal Ha’Emek, summarized the event by saying that the ceremony was impressive and the participants’ sense of mission was simply moving.
