The Jewish Agency is likewise involved in promoting Jewish peoplehood awareness among Atidim Cadets for the Public Sector, an elite group of College Students earmarked for civil service positions in Israel. Upon completing the second year of their studies, Atidim cadets went on an educational tour of North America, where they were they met with US Senators and Congressmen, Mayors, Governors, Federation Chairs and Directors. The educational tour aimed at achieving two primary objectives:
- Familiarization with the US pubic service.
- Familiarization with the US Jewish community.
The cadets were hosted by members of five Jewish communities - New York, Cleveland, Washington DC, Atlanta and Columbus. Following are the comments of one of the hosts, Dan Rosen, a member of the Columbus Jewish Federation's Partnership 2000 Steering Committee:
"Nancy and I had the pleasure of hosting two of Atidim for 2 days last week. The whole experience was truly inspirational. They could tell from their very first minutes here in Columbus that our relationship with Kfar Saba was a personal connection. It was not about, in their words, "charity, politics or fundraising", it was about a people to people connection and a friendship that we have for each other and how deep it ran through our community. It was news to them that people in the U.S. could could care about Israelis in such a personal way. They were very awe struck by it all.
"These Public Service Cadets learned the power of a positive partnership that works both ways in the short time they were in Columbus. They left felling total energized to spread the word about Partnership and the good it creates on both sides when they return."
