We are proud to exhibit the first Youth Futures arts and crafts course which took place last week at the Tarshicha community center.

Sima Oren instructed the course which taught the children about different kinds of weaving – with bamboo, palm fronds and more – and had fun trying out weaving different kinds of baskets. The next workshops will teach the children to weave more complex baskets, and involve the parents in their children's activities.

The workshop was given in Arabew – the new Galilee "language" made up of Arabic and Hebrew, and Sima had help from the Trustees Yosef and Reymonda with translations.

This unique workshop combines social values such as tolerance and sharing with creativity and skill, and aims to build relationships between children from various neighborhoods in Tarshicha.
