Despite the summer break, tutoring continued at Youth Futures House in July. The aim of the tutoring this month was to try and narrow scholastic gaps, even within a limited timeframe - this in order to help the children integrate more easily into the classroom ahead of the new school year.
Tutoring was intensive and held at Youth Futures House twice a week, from 3 - 7 p.m. Four student tutors assisted eight children of various ages.
The trustees supplied information to children in their key areas of difficulty, which served as the basis for constructing the program of tutoring. It's important to point out that it was the children who specifically requested taking part in summer tutoring - their cooperation was considerable and significant.
The staff of Youth Futures wishes to thank the student tutors for their cooperation, their help, and their patience.
