Shimrit was born in 1985 and was raised in Tiberias. She majored in psychology and children's literature in high school. She participated in youth leadership programs and attended a course to enhance facilitation skills. Shimrit finished her service in the IDF a year and a half ago and plans to begin studying nursing at the Shnieder School of Nursing. Her experience in working with children includes working in preschool and youth councilor for the Noar Ha'oved Ve'halomed, in which she was responsible for organizing the events and ceremonies for all ages.

Shimrit heard about the program through an advertisement in the newspaper. She loves children and feels that she can be an important part of the Youth Futures project.
