A fire blazed through a house in the Tzfat's southern neighborhood this morning, killing two children aged 1 and 3 years old. The mother and six year old daughter are in critical condition at Haifa Rambam Hospital. A three week old baby was moderately wounded, as the mother managed to take him out to the porch.
As soon as we heard of the tragedy, we checked to see if the family participates in "Youth Futures". Although it turned out that the family does not take part in the program, we still felt that we should do all that we could to assist them.
All (22) of our trustees were enlisted to help arrange for food, toys and household goods for the family. We've already received two bags of new clothes for the baby from Tzfat stores, and these have been forwarded to the hospital. We've also collected some money for food.
The "Hakoach Latet" organization organized an alternative apartment for the family, including all the basic furnishings.
Someone from Raanana has also stepped in to volunteer to contribute to the family.
Our role as the "Youth Futures" program is to help the family on a city-wide level. We have great strength thanks to the dedicated trustees!
Further assistance is needed and welcome.
