Adam Beckman from Australia was so taken by Ramat Hadassah Szold during a brief visit as a Birthright student that he felt compelled to return as a volunteer. He recalled that he was overwhelmed by the positive atmosphere.
"I attended a number of classes," he wrote, 'and the kids usually appeared willing to learn despite whatever problems they face in their lives." "A smile can say a thousand words," he added, "and the smiles of the kids here will stay with me for the rest of my life."
