Meir Beck Becomes Aliyah Representative

Meir Beck has become the Jewish Agency’s Aliyah Representative in Central Europe. He is based in Hungary, the country of his birth, where he is responsible for promoting aliyah among the estimated 120,000 Jews in the region. Beck has been a Youth Aliyah employee for more than 30 years and served as director of Manpower before becoming Manager in 1995.

"The highlights of my time at Youth Aliyah," he said, "were helping build the department in the 1970’s, the integration of Ethiopian-born children who came on Operations Moses and Solomon, the Na’aleh program and integration of Russian-speaking students and leading students on the March of the Living."
