Some 180 students from the Yeshiva at Othniel in the Hebron Hills spent a tranquil Shabbat at Nitzana. The weekend encounter was funded by the Denver/Boulder Colorado Jewish Federation, which is partnered with the Ramat HaNegev Region, as part of the UJC Israel Emergency Campaign.

In December a deadly terror attack at Othniel killed three students. At Nitzana in January the students from both Othniel and Nitzana itself spent the Friday touring the Negev region and on Shabbat after synagogue prayers the two groups discussed terrorism and Israel's future. This program exemplifies the Denver/Boulder Jewish Federation's solidarity with Israel and its people.
