DRAMATIC MESSAGE: An actor portays the damaging effects of drugs to students at Ramat Hadassah Szold.

Following the death from drug abuse of a Ben Yakir graduate from many years ago, the village has instituted a new drug prevention program. “We have no drugs here and very little violence or alcohol,” stressed Yossi Krothamer, Ben Yakir’s Director. “So we are talking about prevention.”

The program included a lecture by a former drug addict, and the curriculum also covers the damaging health effects of smoking and tobacco. This program is also being implemented at Kiryat Yearim and Ramat Hadassah Szold.
