During a special ceremony in May, Carmen Meyer, President of the Swiss Committee, laid the foundation stone for two new dormitory buildings at Kiryat Yearim. The two buildings Egoz and Alon will each house 21 students in rooms designed for three teenagers with their own private bathroom.
"These will be state-of-the-art facilities," stressed Hezi Panet, Director of Kiryat Yearim, "and will enhance the pride that the youngsters take in the village."
The construction of these dormitories over the next year will mark the completion of a comprehensive program to build and renovate the residential facilities at Kiryat Yearim. The entire project which will provide the village's students with the highest quality living conditions has been funded by the Swiss Committee, which is involved in a wide range of support including educational programs, summer activities and much more.
