On June 16th the new Alon Dormitory was dedicated at Kiryat Yearim by Carmen Meyer, President of the Swiss Committee. The state-of-the-art dormitory contains seven rooms, each designed for three pupils. Each room has its own bathroom facilities.
“These are the finest living conditions that can be expected in a residential school,” stressed Hezi Panet, Director of Kiryat Yearim. “And we have found in the past that moving pupils into upgraded accommodation improves their self-esteem and consequently their behavior and their school performance.”
This year the Swiss Committee also funds the renovation of Bet Helen, some summer renovations as well as cultural and educational enrichment programs.
After the dedication Carmen Meyer and senior Youth Aliyah staff joined the students of Kiryat Yearim and their families for their end of school year party
