| Maccabiah Medals Galore

Hadassah Neurim’s students won 13 medals during the Maccabiah games in the summer including seven golds, three silvers and three bronze medals. The village’s most famous athlete Sivan Gean won a double gold medal in the discus and shot-put and also finished eighth in the women’s shot put in the European Under 22 Athletics Championships. Also among the gold medals were Yevgeny Meynenko in the 110 meters hurdles and his brother Anatoly in the long jump. Hadassah Neurim’s National Youth Center for Athletics is supported through Youth Aliyah by the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, Hadassah Chapter in Houston and Keren Hayesod Melbourne Women’s Division.
