Israeli Twelth Graders Converge on Nitzana
The Shin-Shin volunteers journey along the Israel-Egypt border.
Nitzana's reputation for volunteerism and innovative educational initiatives was emphasized by a national convention for 700 budding shin shinim volunteers, which was held in December at the Negev village. The high school 12th graders gathered in the Negev for three days and conducted a bicycle tour along the Israel-Egypt border, which culminated in a concluding assembly at Nitzana. A fair was held with information stalls for those wishing to receive more details about and sign up for volunteer programs. It was inspiring for Nitzana to host hundreds of teenagers - high-quality and motivated young adults - who will form the backbone of the next generation of Israeli society. It was also a great complement to Nitzana that this year's event was held at the Youth Aliyah village.
