The new SELAH Science and KEDMA students were welcomed to Nitzana by graduates from the programs, who spent the last Shabbat in August together with them. Katya, a SELAH Science student from three years ago, who went onto to earn a BA degree in Business Administration and Economics was on hand to greet the newcomers from the Former Soviet Union at a festive Shabbat dinner and translate the words of welcome of Nitzana Director David Palmach into Russian. Teddy, an Ethiopian-born student who graduated from the KEDMA program last year, and who is about to start his studies in the Haifa University in October, translated into Amharic. Palmach explained that even after the new students graduate from Nitzana, they will always have a second home and warm welcome at the Negev village.
